Education is at the heart of sustainable development and lasting peace.

We believe that every child, regardless of where they are born, has the right to learn in a safe and supportive environment. In Somalia, decades of conflict, displacement, and poverty have left millions of children out of school. In the UK, vulnerable and newly arrived communities also face barriers to accessing quality education. Our Education Program works to close these gaps and create opportunities for all.
 
We support the construction and rehabilitation of schools, ensuring that children have safe classrooms, clean water, and proper sanitation facilities. We provide textbooks, learning materials, and digital tools to improve the quality of teaching and learning. Where schools already exist, we strengthen them through teacher training and community engagement.
 
Girls’ education is a central priority of our work. In many communities, cultural and economic pressures prevent girls from attending school. We work closely with families and community leaders to promote the value of educating girls and to create welcoming, protective learning environments that encourage their participation and retention.
 
We also support non-formal and accelerated learning programs for children and youth who have missed years of schooling due to displacement or crisis. These flexible programs help students catch up on lost education and transition into formal schooling or vocational training.
 
In the UK, we collaborate with local partners to provide tutoring, language support, and mentorship for young people from disadvantaged and refugee backgrounds. By bridging educational gaps, we help students gain confidence, integrate successfully, and pursue higher education or employment.
 
Through education, we empower individuals to shape their own futures and contribute meaningfully to society. Every school built, every teacher trained, and every child enrolled represents a step toward stronger, more resilient communities.
